Hour Detroit magazine recognizes Tre Monti Ristorante as the 2013 Restaurant of the Year

Hour Detroit’s March issue recognizes Tre Monti Ristorante as the 2013 Restaurant of the Year. The upscale Italian restaurant, located in Troy, opened in 2008.

Creative dishes, attentive staff, and an unparalleled attention to detail are paramount to the overall experience at Tre Monti Ristorante. Tucked away behind the San Marino Club of Troy, Tre Monti achieves a comfortable elegance, granting patrons a lavish fine dining experience. Priding itself on providing diners the highest quality food, Tre Monti uses natural ingredients from Italy and other parts of the world, including extra virgin olive oils, imported cheeses and salts, and unique spices.

“Restaurant of the Year should be an exquisite, white-linen place you’d like to go to celebrate an anniversary or after landing a big account,” said Steve Wilke, editor of Hour Detroit magazine. “And Tre Monti fits the bill on all fronts. As restaurant critic Molly Abraham noted, Restaurant of the Year requires the highest standards. ‘It must be ambitious in menu, meticulous in setting, and it must offer top-notch service,’ she said. ‘This year’s choice achieves all of these goals.’”

At Tre Monti, diners are never rushed. When a party is seated, the table is theirs for as long as they wish to stay.

Wine service echoes the style of the food service. Wines are poured at the tables through an aerator into a handsome glass decanter. The extensive list includes a preponderance of Italian and American reds, as well as a few from Spain.

The menu is comprised of antipasti; primi piatti (first plate), pasta served in reasonable portions, not in overflowing platter style; second plates, which include a fresh fish, a veal, and a beef dish, as well as Tre Monti’s 11 standard dishes; and a dessert list that is accompanied by a number of coffee and espresso variations, French press coffees and teas, and dessert wines, as well as a delightful twist on the tiramisu theme called “Berrymisu” – which teams ladyfingers with fresh raspberries, berry tea, Chambord, and mascarpone cheese.

“It’s an honor to be named Hour Detroit’s Restaurant of the Year,” said Zharko Palushaj, operating partner of Tre Monti Ristorante. “Like any great recipe, there’s a secret ingredient, and at Tre Monti, our secret ingredient is our incredible staff, who create outstanding cuisine, provide superior service, and grant our guests a memorable dining experience.”
