Schroeder Brownie Troop 799 Lunches with Adopted Soldier
Schroeder Elementary School’s third-grade Brownie Troop 799 enjoyed lunch with their Adopted Soldier, Troy Nicol, on Feb. 24.
Nicol is an Airman in the US Air Force. He was home on a 1-week leave and gratefully stopped by to visit the Brownies. Brownie Troop 799 adopted Nicol last January when he started Air Force Basic Training in Texas.
Throughout the past 12 months, the Brownies have supported him with cards, letters, Holiday Care Packages, and even a webcam of the Troop singing holiday carols at Christmas.
Nicol is a 2009 graduate of Troy High School and is currently stationed in England. When he returns to his base in England, he will depart again for a 120-day assignment to Spain.
Nicol is the son of Alison Nicol, one of Schroeder’s Noon Aides, and older brother to Chad Nicol, a Schroeder alumnus and current sophomore at Troy High.
