Troy City Clerk Position Confirmed by Council
Aileen Bittner has been confirmed to the Troy City Clerk position.
Bittner was appointed as the deputy city clerk position in May and acting city clerk on July 1. Troy's governing body on Sept. 12 confirmed Bittner to the city clerk position. She received her municipal clerk's certification on Sept. 8.
Bittner previously worked as the administrative aide in the clerk's office. She holds a master's degree in public administration from Oakland University, with a concentration in local government management; a bachelor's degree in political science from Oakland University; she received her elections officials accreditation in 2011 and election inspector training coordinator accreditation in 2007.
“Aileen has been a very dedicated employee for the city of Troy and we were so pleased to see her rise to the challenge when the city clerk’s position became vacant,” Mayor Louise Schilling said.
Bittner lives in Troy with her husband, Rob, and their two daughters, Amelia and Nora.
