Troy High School Theatre Ensemble Presents 'HARVEY' this Weekend

The Troy Theatre Ensemble is pleased to present the classic comedy, HARVEY, the Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Mary Chase. Everyone wants to meet Elwood P. Dowd and his friend Harvey. When they enter a room, strangers soon become friends and people want to share a drink with them. But Harvey is a six-foot invisible rabbit and Elwood’s sister, Veta, wants him gone. The question is, does the world need another “normal” man, or does it need more Harveys? An assortment of comic characters raise this question, making us also ask who is really normal, and who is truly crazy?

HARVEY features a total cast of 16 Troy Theatre Ensemble actors in this charming and thoughtful comedy classic. The story was made famous by the original long-running Broadway play, the much loved 1950 movie starring Jimmy Stewart as Elwood, and was recently revived on Broadway to much critical and commercial success by the Roundabout Theatre Company, starring Jim Parsons (“Sheldon” on The Big Bang Theory) as Elwood.

The nationally recognized, award-winning Troy Theatre Ensemble presents its performances of HARVEY on Thursday, Friday, & Saturday, November 1, 2, & 3, 2012, at 7:00 p.m.; and Sunday, November 4, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. All shows are presented in the Troy High School Auditorium, located at 4777 Northfield Parkway, Troy, MI 48098. Tickets are priced at $10 for adults, and $7 for senior citizens (60 and over) and students (under 18). All seats are reserved. Great show...just saw the opening night performance and the kids did a fantastic job. Big laughs throughout, really fun...best entertainment value in Troy. Be sure to catch it this weekend and support the kids who work so hard to make it come to life.

Opening night was fantastic. The kids did a great job and the show is very entertaining. I remember, as a little girl, enjoying the movie starring Jimmy Stewart and the play follows the story very closely. We have a lot to be proud of in Troy!

The Troy High School theatre program is really wonderful. Not only are the student/actors in the show hard working and dedicated, but there are many students behind the scenes that learn to build sets, manage lights and sound and many other important tasks that make the shows look professional and beautiful. Great entertainment, great reason to support our teens. Come out and see the show!

Saw it last night and loved it! Thank you to the cast and crew for the comedic escape. (I can not even imagine memorizing all of those lines. So impressed!) Mr. Bodick and Gino Minchella: we love all you do to make this happen. Break a leg for the final two performances and please know how much you all are appreciated!
