What a NIGHT! "Beauty pageant misses" are on stage at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at Sterling Heights High School, at 12901 15 Mile Road in Sterling Heights. "What a NIGHT!" chronicles some misadventures of the Great Lakes Chorus of Sweet Adelines International.
There is no misdirection by master director of the chorus, Sylvia Karpinsky, although there will be plenty of mischief and possibly some missteps by the front-row dancers. No actual misdemeanors will be committed, and hopefully no one will misread their lines. Emcee Hammer may ask a nervous contestant for the proper spelling of Mississippi.
There’s no mismatch between the Great Lakes Chorus and its guest stars, misters from the Voices of Harmony Chorus from the Northwest Ohio Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
The choruses end the show with thoughts of mistletoe, and music of the season. The mission of the Great Lakes Chorus is to bring a variety of songs and skits to its audience and have a successful annual show and fundraiser.
Tickets are: $18 general admission; $16 senior; $12 children 12 and under; group price of 10 or more $15 each. Contact Deana Fisher at 586-948-3431 or Vicki Kohn at 586-524-2122.
The chorus recently returned from an international competition in Denver. The performance can be seen and heard at about 3:45 into a video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHMv4Ivf_fw
