5 Things You Should Know: Republican Program, Women's Luncheon, Astronaut Visit and More

Here are a few special events and meetings you may not want to miss this week in Troy.

 

1. Whole Foods Market will host a Meatless Monday cooking class from 4-6 p.m. Monday. A food demonstrator will show attendees different ways to cook without meat. The class is free. 

2. The Troy Republican Club will host a special program from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Troy Library. The event will feature keynote speakers Bill Bullard Jr.,Oakland County clerk/register of deeds and GOP candidate for retention; and state Rep. Marty Knollenberg (R-41st District), candidate for Oakland County treasurer. The event will celebrate the Republican races for 2012. The public is welcome to attend this free event.

3. The National Association of Career Women will host its February luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Troy Marriott. The meeting will feature guest speaker Ruth Holmes, a professional handwriting and document examiner. 

4. Astronaut Col. Greg Johnson will present a multimedia program at Athens High School at 7 p.m. Thursday. The program is called "Inspiration and Exploration: The Final Flight of the Shuttle Endeavour."
