Dane Nowosatko Receives 'Make a Difference' Scholarship

The Michigan Catholic Credit Union's scholarship awards individuals who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others through volunteering.

The following information was submitted by Cindy Stewart/City of Troy.

Michigan Catholic Credit Union (MCCU) is proud to announce Dane Nowosatko as a recipient of their 2012 “Make a Difference” Scholarship Program.

Dane was awarded a one-year educational scholarship in the amount of $500.

MCCU created the Scholarship Program to award educational scholarships to members who are committed to making a difference in the lives of others through their volunteer service.  

Dane was selected as a recipient based on his service activities, letter of recommendation, and personal essay.

His service includes assisting St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church with their South Oakland Shelter week, soliciting donors for blood drives, and contributing over 420 hours to the Troy Historic Village.

Dane wrote about his experience at the , where he completed his Eagle Scout project.  Dane and his team of volunteers restored the outside of the Print Shop building.  In his essay he wrote, “My project enabled me to strengthen my self-confidence, overcome adversity, learn discipline and demonstrated determination to begin and complete a goal.
