Looking for something to do this weekend? Here are 5 suggestions to get your planning started.

Troy Restaurant Week

The kick-off to Troy Restaurant Week starts on Sunday. There will be 15 participating restaurants. Click here to see who will be offering lunch or dinner for the week. Lunch is $15 per person, dinner goes for $25 or $35 per person. Advance reservations are recommended.Many of the participating restaurants will be choosing a favorite charity to support at its location. Visit www.troyrestaurantweek.com for menus and details.

Pet Adoption

If you are looking to add a furry friend to your family, check out the little cuties up for adoption at the Pet Adoption Event at Petco. The Last Day Dog Rescue will be hosting some dogs in search of a loving home. Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m.

Vegan Food Fair

Whole Foods Market will have loads of vegan foods for you to sample. Special guest and Head of Preventive Cardiology, Joel Kahn M.D. from the Detroit Medical Center, will be in store from 3-4 p.m. to answer your nutrition questions. Sunday from 1-4 p.m., free.

Troy Family Aquatic Center Family Night

The Troy Family Aquatic Center will only be open for a few more weeks, so get out and enjoy the family swim night. Families will be admitted for only $10 (up to 4 family members) and non-resident families can come for $12. Saturday from 5-7:30 p.m.

National Geographic Little Explorers

National Geographic is bringing their love of big cats to Pottery Barn Kids at the Somerset Collection. There will be hands-on activities, songs and fun for kids with a lion theme. Kids receive a badge for attending the event. Ages 3 and up. Saturday at 10 a.m., free.
