The Turkish American Society of Michigan presents Noah's Pudding to neighbors each year as a gesture of thanksgiving and goodwill.

The Turkish American Society of Michigan recently presented the employees and officers with Noah's Pudding – a traditional dessert served to neighbors as a gesture of thanksgiving and goodwill.

The dessert, also called Ashura, is made out of wheat, white beans, chick peas, dried apricots, walnuts, raisins, orange, pomegranate, apple, dried figs, sugar and water and is commonly given to neighbors to commemorate Noah's Ark and the Great Flood.

"When Noah landed after the flood, people got out and were so thankful to God that they grabbed all the grains and fruits that they had and made a pudding in thanksgiving to God," Andy Breidenich, public information officer for the , said Friday morning after finishing a bowl of pudding. "This kind of symbolizes that thanksgiving."
