Limo Driver Accused of Operating While Intoxicated; Man Cited for Urinating at Somerset

officers responded early Thursday morning to a call from a 64-year-old Clinton Township man who said his limousine had broken down near Big Beaver and Rochester roads.

Upon arrival, officers noticed a flat tire and fresh accident damage to the vehicle; the man initially denied having been in an accident, but then admitted to "possibly hitting something on Big Beaver," according to a police report.

Officers searched the man and found a bottle of vodka in his coat pocket and an unloaded handgun in his laptop bag. The man, who did not have a concealed weapons permit, failed sobriety tests, was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.15 percent and was arrested.

Warrants are being sought for "carrying a concealed weapon," "operating while intoxicated" and "open intoxicants in a motor vehicle."

Catalytic converters, speakers stolen from vehicles

Two individuals on the 1400 block of Maple and 300 block of Stephenson reported their catalytic converters stolen on Wednesday. A resident on the 6000 block of Denton reported his sub-woofer and speakers stolen from his unlocked vehicle, which was parked in his driveway; the theft occurred between last Friday and this Thursday.

Road rage strikes twice

A woman turning left at 14 Mile Road and Sheffield Monday afternoon reported that the woman ahead of her in the turn lane got out of her vehicle and attacked the victim's vehicle, kicking and scratching all sides before driving off. The woman said the incident occurred after she honked at the woman in front of her when the light turned green.

A second woman reported being tailgated Wednesday afternoon near Maple and Interstate 75. The tailgating vehicle rammed the woman's vehicle twice, and the woman was able to read the license plate when the vehicle passed her. The woman's vehicle received minor damage; the Troy Police Traffic Safety Unit is investigating the incident.

Man cited for public urination

An 18-year-old Bloomfield Township man was cited for urinating in public at Thursday evening. According to Troy Police, the man said he had been unable to find a bathroom.
