Transit, you could have a real job or at least do volunteer work. I have never seen
anymore spend more time than on this paper. To me, you like saying mean things about people and things, you never say anything good about anything - you must be

Great point! If only Patch would have spent a tenth as much time covering the election as it has spent covering Daniels' antics, we'd be much more informed for the election. Her idiotic Facebook post was there for all to see prior to the election. Where was the local media? Isn't that what Patch is supposed to be doing?

Ms Firelight , It is a principle of discourse that if you want someone to listen to what you are saying you reveal who you are. It is hard to accept that you do not want what you say respected if you spent time to write it. I do not disrespect you because I do not know you. I can only respect or disrespect what you write . Ms VanThomme , May you please learn that our constitution freedom of speak is giving the citizens free speech from the government . She is now the government !. She no longer has free speech against her citizens nor can she punish them for what they say. Furthermore she is required to be open and honest in her actions as mayor . Her e mails seem to indicate she has not been honest in things she has said about the transit center messages from the citizens .

Janice Daniels is a dangerous homophobe who should have been removed from office after she posted here ridiculous anti-gay comments on Facebook. She harbors nothing but hatred for a sizable community of her own constituents (you think Troy doesn't have an LGBT community? Think again.). Freedom of speech? More like freedom to spew hatred and misinformation. She needs to be exiled. Preferably to The Castro where maybe she may learn a lesson in compassion (or at least get kissed by a girl).

Ms Van Thomme , WHOA !!!~ Your last sentence tells me how very uninformed you are about the gay community .First lesson : If one deals with data to make their decisions they would have every reason to believe ~ 10% of the Troy community are gay . That is because census research in all types of communities all over the world and over time. strongly suggests that there is a ~ 10% homosexual population in every society across the world and across time . Now there is other messages in that constant census finding but the message you need to be aware of in the future . That is that ~ 10% of Troy citizens are gay . That is hardly a small minority .
Second lesson : It is immaterial how small that gay population is in Troy . Have you ever heard that she must represent all citizens in Troy ? Have you ever heard that a principle of the democracy is " majority rules ,minority has rights .
Third lesson : All human beings are entitled to respect and dignity.
Fourth lesson : Always ask yourself " Would I like to be treated that way ?" If you lhad done that regardless of your data knowledge you would of not made the last horrendous statement.

Ms Van Thomme , Your closing states "G-d be with you " and G-D bless america ". Lets me know something about your religious belief's . You may find that reading more of Jesus's teachings or learning their meaning could give you more compassion for all G-D'S people and less judgment of those not like you.

Ms Roboy , This country was founded on the princilpes of a government for the people and by the people . It gave us free speech against the government without punishment or making them silent . I learn much from these blogs even when you are on the opposite opinion from me. That does not make me call you a sore loser or any other name. because my courses in logic tell me that neither you or I cannot know that from this blog who is a sore loser .
It would be better if everyone use this discourse to echange ideas supported with data and reason . Calling people things you cannot know to be true is name calling .
