Troy Architects Design Church in South Africa

John Tagle Associates, Inc. Architects & Planners said communication, metric system were challenges in the project.

Designing a church in another country isn't easy, but that didn't stop Troy's John Tagle Associates, Inc. Architects & Planners for tackling the project in South Africa.

Through a church in Detroit, Tagle became involved in discussions with a church member participating in a South African Ministry. Tagle took a trip to South Africa and toured the city to learn about different styles and building materials.

While getting building plans approved wasn't as technical as in the United States, switching the drawings to the metric system was a challenge for officials. Tagle said communication was also a challege with most people in the area speaking Zulu.
