Troy City Council to Discuss Transit Center Tonight

Troy City Council will meet at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Troy City Hall.

Troy City Council members tonight will discuss an $8.4 million multi-modal transit facility following their regular meeting during a study session about the building that is to be designed and constructed with federal funding.

The city, which had about 10 years to identify a funding source to build the transit center, approved a contract agreement in September with the Michigan Department of Transportation to design and construct the facility, which would include a train station, bus terminal and room for private commercial vendors, such as rental cars.

The MDOT would pay for the project through federal railway transportation funds.
