Police are asking for the public's help finding Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes, 55, who was last seen leaving his home on bicycle Friday afternoon.
The Troy Police Department is seeking information from the public regarding missing Troy resident Patrick Joseph Mikes, 55, who was last seen leaving his home on the 2000 block of Homewood on his bicycle Friday afternoon.
In a press conference at the Troy Police station Monday afternoon, department spokesman Capt. Bob Redmond said there appeared to be signs of a struggle inside the home, though it is not yet known if the assault is related to Mikes' disappearance.
"We found evidence indicating an assault took place at the residence," Redmond said. “This is an ongoing investigation.”
An individual is currently in custody, though no charges have been filed, and the individual's identity has not been released.
Mikes was reported missing late Sunday morning by his two sons, 16 and 21, who were the last to see Mikes on Friday afternoon. Mikes' wife is deceased.
Mikes is described as 6 feet tall, 170 pounds with short gray hair. He was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and black spandex shorts. His bicycle is a Cannondale Super 6 road bicycle that is black with red handlebars.
“We are seeking info from anyone who may be aware of Mr. Mikes' bike routes, routines, as well as any locations he may visit," Redmond said.
Troy police are asking anyone who has any information about Mikes–including information about his routines, his associates, locations he may frequent or why someone may want to hurt him–to call 248-524-3477.
