Troy Police to Teach How to Respond to an 'Active Shooter'

Free seminar scheduled next week at Walsh College.

If you have watched police situations on the news involving "active shooters" — defined as an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area — and needed personal context, Troy Police can help.

A free seminar is scheduled on Wednesday, March 6, from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Walsh College Barry Center Auditorium (3838 Livernois, Troy). Guided by Troy Police Sergeants and Troy-based business security firm Huffmaster Crisis Management, the seminar will teach people what will happen if such a situation takes place locally and what people can do beforehand to help improve their chances of survival.

To register, visit the Walsh College Events page at walshcollege.edu.

Funny the seminar is in a pistol free zone. John the only way to carry there would be if there was no sign prohibiting, you have your CPL and you open carry.

@zoltan. Someone has to save us all since, to date, the police have failed to on many, many occasions.
