Troy Rotary Club Names Educators of the Year
Four Troy teachers were honored Wednesday during the club's weekly lunch.
Four outstanding Troy teachers were recognized Wednesday as Troy Rotary Educators of the Year at the Troy Rotary Club's weekly lunch meeting.
The award included a certificate and gift cards to both Barnes and Noble and Kruse and Muer.
"I'm excited," said Rotarian Bryan Clark, who presented the awards. "After reading through their biographies, I'm excited and privileged to honor such high caliber teachers."
"We have a true commitment to the students in the Troy School District," Troy Schools Superintendent Barbara Fowler said. "We work very, very hard to make sure our students, K through 12, have the most fabulous experience possible."
The four teachers honored are:
Debbie Brorson, science, Schroeder Elementary School
Mark Cavataio, physical education, Wass Elementary School
Susan Pickering, media specialist, Smith and Boulan Park middle schools
Glen Rexer, history, Smith Middle School

So pleased to see 2 teachers that my kids had the pleasure of having years back being recognized. Both Mrs. Pickering and Mr. Rexer deserve this recognition.
