VIDEO: Larson Middle School Students March Against Bullying
Troy school participates in national initiative to end the bullying epidemic.
About 700 Larson Middle School students and dozens of teachers and parents took a stand against bullying Thursday morning in a march from the Troy school to Troy Athens High School.
The event was part of the national Million T-Shirt March, which strives to raise awareness about bullying. Participants wore T-shirts with anti-bullying messages to demonstrate unity and carried signs with messages such as "Help, don't hurt," "Step up" and "Be nice on the net."
The group was greeted by the Troy Athens marching band when it arrived at the high school.
Students have participated in anti-bullying lessons and activities all week and teachers are putting an emphasis on social media bullying and texting, Troy schools spokeswoman Kerry Birmingham said.

I'm glad that these kids understand the importance of standing up against bullying. However, changing hearts and minds for Jesus, is the most effective way to combat bullying.
