Zion Christian Church will host a live nativity scene on Sunday, Dec. 23 during the 10 a.m. service, complete with llamas, donkeys, sheep and even a camel.

"This is our third year hosting the live nativity and it's becoming a cherished tradition," senior pastor Scott LeLacheur said. "The animals make the Christmas story come to life and it's amazing to watch the children's faces light up when they see them."

The service will feature Christmas carols and a short dramatic presentation of the Christmas story, as well as the live nativity. Families are invited to take pictures of the animals after the service, but no petting will be permitted. Zion is located at 3668 Livernois, between Big Beaver and Wattles roads in Troy.

"My daughter's favorite last year was definitely the camel," Sterling Heights resident Annie Sadecki said. "We're excited to attend again this year."

Located in Troy, Zion Christian Church is an independent Christian church and a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization serving Southeast Michigan since 1955. For additional information, visit zionchristian.org or call 248-524-2400.
