Well folks there is only 2 weeks to go and I have to say I never thought I would feel this great! So at this point my classes have consisted mostly of Monkey Bar and Krav Maga. I did take a couple of kickboxing classes and yoga a few times. I have enjoyed them all but really loved the Monkey Bar and Krav classes the most but for very different reasons.
The Krav classes I have taken have definatly brought out a new confidence in me that I never really knew I had in me. This past week I finally felt like I had mastered the art of wrapping my hands (Yahoo!!). I love the fact that when I am in class I don't get treated like a girl (a first for me in a fitness class). I am expected to do everything the guys do with the same amount of effort that they do. It feels more personal to be able to defend yourself from not only short people like myself as well as not be so afraid of poeple larger than myself. I look at it this way, what is the likelyhood that my attacker on the street is 5'3"?
Now Monkey Bar class is just plain awesome! I love that I still have no idea what to expect when I walk in the door! Last week I felt like crab walking was not as toruturous as it once was, and jumproping is becoming much easier. Backwards jump roping is still extremely funny to watch and I hope my classmates at least get a good laugh at my awkwardness. That being said the power wheel and I have not had a chance to meet lately. We simply acknowledge each other's presence and go about our business.
As for the dietary changes, this had proven to be the most difficult. Yes it is so easy to give into my food cravings...and I have a few times. But surprisingly the increase in fruit and veggies has been the easiest part. I already serve my son a ton of both so now I just make sure we both eat it, and I have seen my husband eating more fruit as well...shh don't tell him I noticed.
So with only 2 weeks left, I find myself actually really excited about going to class. My fellow challengers have even joked that I am always anxious to get started.
