The Troy Nature Society announces its NATURE’S WINTER COATS program at the Lloyd A. Stage Nature Center on Thursday, January 3, 2013 from 10:00-11:30 a.m. for children ages 5-7 years old.   Many birds and mammals stay active throughout the winter.  Some can swim in open water or even under the ice!  How do they stay warm?  We’ll explore special fur and feather adaptations that keep these “warm-blooded” animals from losing body heat.  They will be many fur and feather samples for a close-up look.  Then we will hike outside to look for some of the winter active mammals and birds.  Dress for the weather.

Fee: $7.   TNS Member Fee:  $6    At-The-Door Fee: $9
