Friends of the Troy Public Library and the Troy Public Library Thank Our Troops

The Friends of the Troy Public Library and the Troy Public Library have joined Michigan Military Moms in a care package drive to collect items for troops serving in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Donations of travel size personal health items and individual size snack foods can be dropped off at the Troy Public Library from November 4th through November 16th.  A complete list of desired items is available at the Library or on the Michigan Military Moms web page.

In addition to the snacks and toiletries, each package will contain a paperback book donated by the Friends of the TPL.  Students from the Library’s Teen Advisory Board will assist in packing the items on the last day of the drive, Saturday, November 16th.  The packages will be shipped the following week to arrive just in time for the holiday season.

Michigan Military Moms is a non-profit, non-partisan,  support organization dedicated to sons and daughters serving in all branches of our military.  Sal Haji, Troy resident and Presidentof Michigan Military Moms, noted, ”Every package received by our Troops feels like Christmas morning, it boosts their morale to know patriots back home have not for forgotten about them".
