Leadership Troy is proud to announce its 2013 Business Community Appreciation Award Winner.  The honored business is the Troy Somerset-Gazette.

“The award is given each year to a business that over a period of time has given a wide range of support to local schools, community groups, and/or non-profit organizations and has improved the quality of life in Troy through civic and philanthropic activities.”  Said Jim Cyrulewski, President of Leadership Troy.  “The criteria used to make the selection includes provision of community service that substantially benefited the community, served as a positive ambassador of the Troy community locally, nationally, and/or internationally, received recognition for outstanding service contributions such as awards, honors and citations, demonstrated business growth, expansion, or development, involved in Troy community, practices social responsibility and encourages employee participation in community volunteer activities and noted for contributions to the wellbeing and quality of life in Troy.  The Troy-Somerset Gazette meets the criteria and has for many years.”

The Troy-Somerset Gazette community involvement is highlighted below.

The Troy-Somerset Gazette will be honored at the Leadership Troy 45th Annual Community Awards Banquet November 6 at the St. Nicholas Greek Cultural Center at 760 West Wattles Road (between Livernois and Crooks).  This annual event also honors the significant contributions of individuals and businesses who give back to the Troy community. Other honors given out that night are the 2013 Troy Distinguished Citizen Award and the Community Organizations Outstanding Volunteer Award.
