New Program to Honor "Incredible Kids" in Troy Next Month

Do you know one superb kid? Nominate him or her today!

You'll know an incredible kid when you see one.

Whether it's your own child, a family friend or maybe a youngster you witnessed doing a good deed in the community, Troy is filled with youth making positive impacts.

From now until Jan. 31, adults have the opportunity to nominate a child, between the ages of 5 and 12, that has special qualities and is already making his or her mark on the world.

The contest is sponsored by The Troy Community Coalition for the Prevention of Drug and Alcohol Abuse, which will highlight February as "Incredible Kid Month" as it recognizes these young individuals.

The Coalition notes that an essential part of a healthy community is recognizing all members of society, including those not yet four feet tall.

All of the "incredible kids" will be honored during a special event at the Troy Community Center on Feb. 28.

In the meantime, adults can submit the attached form along with a donation in any amount, which will help the Coalition in continuing to offer educational programs for the people of Troy, before the last day of January.

Maybe they shoveled snow out of your driveway, walked your dog or volunteered at a local charity. Every "incredible kid" deserves to be appreciated so nominate one today!

All nomination forms and donations can be mailed to Troy Community Coalition: Incredible Kid Recognition at 4420 Livernois Road in Troy. For questions, please contact Marianne Wiwel at 248-823-5088.
