On Friday September 7 at 8:00 PM, The Juilliard String Quartet inaugurates the Chamber Music Society of Detroit’s new series, inDepth, in which artist are invited to explore their musical passions in informal settings at several of midtown Detroit’s exciting newer venues. The Juilliard String Quartet will discuss and perform Elliott Carter’s Quartet No. 5 and Beethoven’s Grosse Fuge, reflecting the quartet’s founding motto to “play new works as if they were established masterpieces, and established masterpieces as if they were new.” Music Box at the Max, 3711 Woodward Avenue, Detroit; cabaret seating with refreshments available; all tickets $20.
