Business Brief: White Chapel Delivers for Troops

White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery delivered items for 100 care packages to Military Moms United in Taylor.

At least 100 military troops serving overseas will receive care packages containing treats and special items from home thanks to a recent delivery by .

The cemetery delivered boxes of cotton socks, phone cards, candy, and other items on Thursday to Military Moms United in Taylor for packaging. The organization then filled about 100 care packages with the items, which were collected by the cemetery in September, and prepared them for shipment to troops overseas.

"Metro Detroiters generously donated thousands of items for overseas military troops during g the care package drive," David R Krall, vice president and general counsel of White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery, said in a news release. "We are honored to do what we can to bring a little bit of home to our troops."

The package drive was held from Sept. 7-17, and asked the community to donate food, toiletries, magazines and other items to be sent to troops.
