Map Out Your After Christmas Shopping Strategy in Troy

Retail experts are predicting Dec. 26 will be one of the largest shopping days this year.

It's the day after Christmas which means all of the presents under the tree have been unwrapped, and the kids are content with the gifts they’re received from Santa this year. The hustle and bustle of holiday shopping is done, right?

Not so fast! The Christmas spirit is still strong in some. For many, the day-after-Christmas sales represent the best part of the holiday shopping experience. For those heading out to nearby Oakland Mall or the Somerset Collection, it’s not all about the “return”. In fact, Dec. 26 shopping is more about the deals you can find.

Nerdwallet.com is reporting that Wednesday will be a huge retail shopping day this year. Last year, shoppers spent $7.1 billion on the day after Christmas according to ShopperTrak, a 25.5% increase from the year before. Experts are predicting that the after-Christmas sales will look similar to Black Friday – complete with early hours and doorbuster specials.
