Walsh College Board of Trustees Appoints Two to Foundation Board of Directors

The Walsh College Board of Trustees has elected two new members to three-year terms on the Walsh College Foundation Board of Directors: Wendy L. Foss, vice president, corporate controller and chief accounting officer for Lear Corporation; and Cynthia C. Kot, district leader for Primerica Financial Services.

At Lear, Wendy Foss is responsible for the company’s global accounting, external financial reporting and financial controls, including compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation. Foss previously served as Lear’s vice president and chief compliance officer, vice president, audit services, vice president, finance and administration, and corporate secretary, among other positions.  Foss has also served in various financial management positions for UT Automotive, Inc. and Coopers & Lybrand.

Foss earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Central Michigan University, a Master of Science degree in finance from Walsh College and is a Certified Public Accountant.  She serves on the Board of Directors and Audit Committee of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, the Board of Directors of the YMCA Foundation.  Ms. Foss is also a member of Inforum, Financial Executives International, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants.

As district manager for Primerica, Cynthia Kot offers weekly training sessions for team development, and presents financial seminars to various groups within local organizations and communities. Kot has experience in a variety of industries, including airline travel, advertising, banking and financial services, public school administration, and federal government employment.

Kot holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration degree from Duquesne University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Walsh College. Kot currently serves as the president of the Walsh College Alumni Association (WCAA) and was recognized as Walsh College’s 2012 Distinguished Volunteer.

THE WALSH COLLEGE FOUNDATION

Established in 2004, the Walsh College Foundation serves as the official fundraising arm of the College.  The Foundation’s purpose is to encourage private giving and to ensure the integrity of the College’s philanthropy program. Walsh alumni comprise 64 percent of the 25-member Foundation Board of Directors. It is staffed by employees of the College and led by volunteers who are business, industry, and community leaders.
