5 Things to Know This Week: San Marino Club Hosts New Year's Eve Bash, Meet Exotic Animals at the Library, City Offices Closed

Here's the scoop on what's happening in Troy for the week of Dec. 31.

1. Troy City Hall, Library and Community Center will be closed Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Normal hours will resume on Wednesday. Trash pick-up will also be delayed one day this week Tuesday - Thursday.

2. Come ring in the New Year at the San Marino Club! The fun begins at 8 p.m. and lasts until 1 a.m. Tickets are $50 at the door; the cost includes a pasta bar, tossed salad, dancing, noisemakers and much more. Cocktail attire is requested.

3. Start off 2013 by keeping those less fortunate in mind. Drop off canned goods and other non-perishable food items to Community of Christ—Troy Oaks on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. The items will be donated to the Lighthouse of Oakland County food collection.

4. Head over to the Troy Public Library on Thursday at 3 p.m. to meet exotic animals from around the world. During this free program, Mark Rosenthal, Nickelodeon Michigan Entertainer of the Year 2010, will introduce you to rare and fascinating live animals, including the largest sloth in Michigan.

5. Leaders, entrepreneurs and sales individuals are invited to the Troy Marriott Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. for Business Breakthrough Immersion Detroit. The event will focus on business messaging, branding and blueprint as well as personal growth and transformation.
