Report: Troy, Oakland County Property Values are on the Rise

Event modest gains are a plus after years in decline. This year, 75 Metro Detroit communities were up and 43 were down.

Metro Detroit's housing recovery gained steam last year, with rising home values reported in Troy and around Oakland County, offering hope for homeowners who have suffered for years in decline.

According to an article in the Detroit Free Press, the city saw values in this year's assessments rise by 3.3 percent as part of the 2013 assessing data, which is based on prices of homes sold between Oct. 1, 2011, and Sept. 30, 2012.

The changes are proposed and still subject to adjustments after boards of review meet next month.
