WANTED: Classic Cars for Troy Traffic Jam

Applications are now being accepted for the city's annual classic car show.

The City of Troy’s annual classic car show – – will roar into the Columbia Center for its fifth year on Sunday, August 5, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Proceeds from Troy Traffic Jam benefit the Troy Historical Society. The event combines all of the fun and excitement of traditional car shows with the addition of classic oldies music from DJ Bob Steel and delicious food from Gateway Deli and Insalata. will also bring their truck and serve free coffee and timbits in the morning.

Applications from interested car owners are now being accepted. Major sponsors are , Columbia Center, , and .

“The Columbia Center provides a terrific backdrop for this show,” Director of Community Affairs for the City of Troy Cindy Stewart said. “This is a terrific way to spend a summer Sunday as Troy Traffic Jam strives to make a positive impact on our City.”

Vehicles from a variety of eras will be featured at this exciting car show and judged for prizes in over 15 categories, as well as Best of Show!  The $15 fee for each vehicle includes goodie bags, prizes and dash plaques.  T-shirts with the Traffic Jam logo will also be on sale.  Applications for advanced registration must be postmarked by July 29 or dropped off in person by August 3.  Registration will be available the day of the event, space permitting, for $20.  Download applications online at www.troymi.gov/carshow.

Come and see shining chrome and gleaming paint as a variety of classic automobiles, hot rods and muscle cars will be featured at the show, or take a glimpse at what the future holds in store for the automotive industry with an assortment of innovative concept cars.
