1. Secretary of Sate Ruth Johnson filed a lawsuit Friday against the Troy City Clerk Aileen Bittner, saying Troy residents "have the right to choose the city's mayor in February."
2. Police Still Investigating Sunday Crash that Killed Madison Heights Woman. No charges have been filed against the driver as of Friday morning, police say.
3. 41 Residents Apply for Vacant Troy City Council Seat. Council will review the applications at its Dec. 3 study session and vote on an appointment at its Dec. 17 meeting.
4. City Breaks Ground on $6.3 Million Troy Transit Center. Congressman Gary Peters attended the event to officially break ground on the project, which is expected to be completed by October of next year.
5. Council Votes 4-2 to Appoint Dane Slater Mayor Until November 2013. As of Monday evening, there are no plans to hold a special election on Feb. 26 to elect a new mayor.
