Edited: 3:37 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, for clarity
12:59 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12, to include new survey

Election Day in Troy is still weeks away, but candidates for city council have been working overtime recently to get their message out to the public.

Nine candidates are pursuing three spots on the city council in the Nov. 5 election, each with a four-year term. Among the candidates are two incumbents. Council member Maureen McGinnis has stated her intention not to pursue a second term. Below, you'll find links to candidate surveys with six of the nine candidates who will be on your ballot.

Additionally, the League of Women Voters of Troy Area will hold its candidate's night on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Walsh College auditorium (3838 Livernois Rd., Troy). This program is nonpartisan and will be shown as many times as possible on Community Media Network public access TV channel and video on demand thru your computers via the CMN website, cmntv.org.

What issues in the city matter most to you? Tell us in the comments and we'll do our best to find the answers for you from the candidates.
