All About eBooks

The Troy Public Library will hold free All About eBooks programs throughout December and January. These sessions are for Troy residents thinking about buying an ereader or tablet or for those who already own an ereader or tablet and would like to learn how to download ebooks, music, and magazines from the Library.

In these 90-minute sessions, participants will learn how to set up an account and download ebooks, music, and magazines free of charge from the Library. Sessions are device-specific. There are  sessions for Kindle Touch users, for those who use non-Kindle ereaders, and for those who use iPads, tablets, Kindle Fires, and smartphones.

If you are new to ereaders and want to learn about various options, attend any of the sessions to see some of the more popular devices, courtesy of the Friends of Troy Public Library.

“There has been a huge growth of readers interested in the Library’s downloadable ebooks due to the affordability of mobile devices,” Troy Public Library Technology Specialist Anna Cangialosi said.  “We see an even bigger increase in questions about ereaders and ebooks around the holidays, when it seems everyone is thinking of giving or receiving — a mobile device  for the holiday. We are always looking for ways to connect readers with our growing downloadable collection.”

All About e-Books starts at 6:30pm in the Troy Library’s Meeting Room on the following dates:
