Do you own an ebook reader? Are you thinking of purchasing one? Did you know that you can download ebooks free from the Troy Public Library for your Kindle, Nook, iPad, smartphone, or other portable device?

To discover more about this exciting Library service, attend All about eBooks, a 90-minute program led by Troy Library staff. This program will answer all of your questions about these popular reading devices, and show you how to set up an account and download ebooks free of charge from the Library.

All about eBooks is tailored to the device you own. We have sessions for Kindle Touch and Fire users; sessions for those who use non-Kindle readers (Nooks, Kobo Readers, Pandigitals, Sony Readers, etc.); and sessions for those who use iPads, tablet computers, and smart phones.

New to eReaders and just want to learn? Attend any of the sessions and we will demonstrate some of the more popular eReaders, purchased courtesy of the Friends of the Troy Library.

All about eBooks is on Tuesdays, at 6:30 pm, on the following dates:

  • for Kindle users: January 8, February 12, and March 5

  • for non-Kindle users: January 22, February 19, and March 19

  • for iPad, tablet, and smartphone users: January 29, February 26, and March 26

Register for All about eBooks by going to troylibrary.info and clicking on the Programs Calendar link on the left, or by calling the Technology Center at 248.524.3542. Questions? Call us or email us at techroom@troymi.gov.
