Red Wings Former Physician to Sign Book at Troy Kroger

Kroger customers are invited to participating stores to meet former Detroit Red Wings physician, Dr. John Finley, as he signs copies of his book, Hockeytown Doc: A Half-Century of Red Wings Stories from Howe to Yzerman. Few books exist that have been written by physicians of major professional sports teams, and even fewer by a doctor with nearly 50 years experience mending the multitude of breaks and gashes that accompany the rough-and-tumble sport of hockey. In his new memoir Hockeytown Doc, Dr. John Finley offers up a perspective on the sport like no one else can—from perhaps the safest seat in the house. A nostalgic trip through some of the most unnerving injuries and exciting moments in Red Wings history, Hockeytown Doc also lends perspective to the sport’s safety regulations and how it evolved during his time in the industry.
