Lighthouse of Oakland County will kick off the Holiday season as it hosts the second annual Lighting the Way for the Holidays, a festive event featuring beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, gifts, and entertainment on Sunday, Nov. 11 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Bank of America corporate office atrium at 2600 W. Big Beaver Road in Troy.
This year's new location at the Bank of America atrium is the home to many corporate and charitable events throughout the year.
The featured trees will be custom decorated by local business people, designers and florists, sharing their own personal touch. Tree designs will include creations from Bamboo and Lace, Elegance by Design, Donna Miles Interiors, Scott Shuptrine, Jacobsen’s Flowers and Gifts, Front Door Designs, Bordine Nursery, Thrifty Florists, and Scandia Down. Fully decorated trees will be delivered by Corrigan Moving Systems in Auburn Hills.
During the fundraising event, Lighthouse will recognize Consumers Energy’s 125th anniversary and Lighthouse’s successful completion of the $125,000 challenge grant for improvements to the agency’s headquarters in Pontiac, allowing better and more efficient access for its clients. Attendees will be entertained with the glorious voices of the Langsford Men’s Chorus singing beautiful holiday music.
Proceeds benefit the programs of Lighthouse of Oakland County that help struggling families with their housing, employment, financial and other crisis as they move to self-sufficiency. These proceeds will also be used to help support families that have been accepted into the
Lighthouse Holiday Program. There will also be wine, dining, entertainment, and a silent auction.
