Northminster Presbyterian Church in Troy Opens its Doors to the Community

Northminster Presbyterian will host a number of Advent and Christmas services in December with a special invitation extended to the greater community.

“The First Christmas" Pageant, Dec. 15, 10:30 a.m.

During the worship service a cast of over 30 church members and friends, from babes-in-arms to grandmothers will participate in a special pageant that tells the story of the first Christmas.

Darkest Night Contemplative Service of Worship, Dec. 22,  7-7:45 p.m. 

This season can be a difficult time of year for many who are lonely, grieving, sad, stressed, and anxious about expectations of the holidays. The church welcomes the greater community for a time of rest, deep silence, prayers, the lighting of candles, and contemplative singing.

Christmas Eve Service, Dec. 24, 7 pm

There will be beautiful seasonal music performed by both the bell and vocal choirs, a reading of the story of Jesus’ birth, and congregational singing of traditional Christmas songs. The service concludes with candle lighting during the singing of "Silent Night."
