What a hidden gem! Better to have this guy come to your home and do the work, rather than trying to load your lawn mower, or in my case, my snowblower, into the trunk of your car to haul it off to a repair shop, where you might have to wait for days, even weeks, for the work to be done. I emailed Mr. Ross, the owner, on a Sunday afternoon with info on what my problem was and how to reach me and within 15 or 20 minutes, he called me on the phone. I told him what was wrong with my snowblower (it wouldn't start) and he told me about his 40 years of experience and the fact that he is State of Michigan licensed and is also insured. After I further explained my problem with the snowblower, he estimated over the phone that the work would cost $95.00. I had figured it would be at least $100.00.
I had checked the internet and the yellow pages and found very few anywhere in my area, who have a mobile repair service. The ones that do, charge a travel fee and then on top of that, an hourly rate. The travel fees I saw were $35 within a 15 mile radius, an extra 10 bucks if you were outside of the 15 mile radius. Mr. Ross does not charge a travel fee, nor does he charge by the hour. He was actually at my home, for a little over 2 hours total and my job tied him up for about 3 1/2 hours, because he had to phone for a part that he didn't have on his truck and then he had to travel to go pick it up. When he handed me the final bill, it was for $90.00. My snowblower runs perfectly now after he cleaned out some bad gas and did a complete tuneup. Will I call Mr. Ross again in the future, you betcha! I already told him I'll have him back to give my lawnmower a tuneup this spring, when it's getting near time for the lawn mowing season
