Houston, We Have a Problem: James Lovell, 28, Charged in Troy Home Invasion

Lovell, who bears the same first and last name as famous Apollo 13 astronaut Jim Lovell, will appear in court again next Wednesday.

The following information was provided in a media release from the Troy Police Department.

On Sunday, the Troy Police Department received a report of a home invasion on the 1000 block of Long Lake. After an extensive investigation, officers and investigators with the Troy Police Department arrested Troy resident James Ray Lovell, 28, on Tuesday for the entry into the residence.

Lovell was arraigned before Magistrate Donald Chisholm of the 52-4 District Court in Troy Thursday on charges of:

  1. Larceny in a Building (a four-year felony)
  2. Financial Transaction Device-Stealing (a four-year felony)
  3. Two counts of Financial Transaction Device - Fraudulent Use (each a four-year felony)

Lovell was given a $50,000 cash/surety bond. Lovell’s pre-trial exam will be held at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 before Judge William Bolle at 52-4 District Court in Troy.
