Larcenies from Autos Reported in Troy Neighborhoods

The following information was obtained from the Troy Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media release. 

Auto/vehicle thefts

2000 block of Dashwood, 10 p.m. on May 14 and 6 a.m. on May 15: The complainant’s Chevrolet Blazer was stolen while parked in the driveway of her home. 

Credit, check, identity theft, other fraud

2000 block of Dina, Feb. 1: The IRS notified the complainant that someone filed a fraudulent tax return using the complainant’s social security number.

Larcenies

United Shore Financial (1414 E. Maple Rd.), between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. on May 15: Business representative reports that copper wiring was stripped/stolen from the buildings generator.

Larcenies from autos

1000 block of Minnesota, between 10:30 p.m. on May 14 and 5 a.m. on May 15: A dual screen mobile DVD player was stolen from the complainant’s unlocked Dodge Caravan.

2000 block of Lovington, between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on May 14: The catalytic converter was stolen from the complainant’s Pontiac Grand Am. 

1000 block of Minnesota, between 10 p.m. on May 14 and 7 a.m. on May 15: Two unlocked vehicles parked in the complainant’s driveway were entered. A digital camera was stolen from one vehicle and loose change was taken from the other.

1000 block of Jackson, between 4:10 p.m. on May 14 and 8 a.m. on May 15: The catalytic converter was stolen from the complainant’s Chevrolet Cavalier. 

Malicious destruction of property

1000 block of Sandalwood, between 9 a.m. and 3:40 p.m. on May 16: When the complainant returned home she discovered the condominiums sliding glass doorwall had been shattered. 

Retail fraud

JCPenney (700 W. 14 Mile Rd.), at 6:15 p.m. on May 16: Troy Officers issued a citation for retail fraud to a 29-year-old Madison Heights woman after she fraudulently returned merchandise she shoplifted. Loss Prevention reports the suspect selected several merchandise items in the housewares department. The suspect proceeded to a register where she returned the items she had just selected and received a JCPenney gift card. The suspect performed a second fraudulent return before leaving the store and being apprehended. She fraudulently obtained $380 worth of gift cards.
