Police Blotter: Car Stolen, Phone Taken from Back Pocket in Apple Store

The following information was obtained from the Troy Police Department in Troy. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Following are highlights from recent reports:

Auto Theft

  • Between 11 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday someone stole a woman's 2000 Plymouth Voyager that was parked in a driveway on the 500 block of Sylvanwood, according to a report to Troy Police.

Larcenies

  • An Apple Store employee reported that someone stole a cell phone from the back pocket of her pants between 3:15 p.m and.4:30 p.m. Monday while she waited on customers. When she activitated the GPS on her phone, it showed the phone was near I-696 and Farmington Road.
  • Someone broke into a vehicle parked on the 500 block of Lyons about 4:50 a.m. Saturday, police say. Items stolen included a Sony camera, an Apple iPod, a pair of running shoes, a gym bag, clothing, a Garmin GPS and other items. Police say an officer discovered the car's window had been smashed and contacted the car's owner.
  • A person reported that between 6 p.m. Monday and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday someone stole a pair of sunglasses, a phone charger and a bag of loose change from his unlocked car parked on the 1000 block of Joshua.
  • A homeowner told police that a Kenwood in-dash radio was stolen from his car between 12:30 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. The car was parked in a driveway on the 1000 block of Country. The vehicle had no signs of forced entry.  
  • A person reported that between 9:30 p.m. Monday and 7:45 a.m. Tuesday, two pairs of sunglasses, 10 CDs, a phone charger and some loose change were stolen from her unlocked vehicle parked on the 6000 block of Granger.
  • A manager at told police someone stole an OPI brand LED lamp from the business between 1-4 p.m. Saturday. The lamp is valued at $399.95. There are no suspects.
