Man arrested after allegedly impersonating doctor to get painkillers

A 32-year-old Lake Orion man was arrested Monday afternoon for fraudulent procurement of prescription drugs after allegedly calling in his own prescription to the Kroger pharmacy, Troy Police say.

Pharmacy employees suspected the man was not a physician when he called in a patient prescription for a painkiller, a police report said. The pharmacist contacted the physician directly, who confirmed he did not call in the prescription, according to police.

Troy police stopped the man after he picked up the prescription from the pharmacy and arrested him. The man has been convicted of fraudulent procurement of prescription drugs before, according to police.

Man arrested for allegedly urinating in public

According to a Troy Police report, a police sergeant watched a man exit a store on the 2800 block of Crooks just after 1 a.m. Tuesday and then urinate 15 feet away from another customer. The sergeant arrested the man for urinating in public.

The police report said officers found marijuana when they searched the man and charged him with possession of marijuana.

Copper worth $15,000 stolen from business

A representative from Mid America Cine Support reported Friday that someone had stolen more than $15,000 in copper cables and lighting fixtures from the business, according to a police report.

Vehicle tires slashed

A resident on the 1000 block of Kirts reported Monday that someone had punctured and flattened all four tires on his Cadillac CTS. There are no suspects at this time.

Another resident on the 3000 block of Fernleigh reported that the right rear tire of her Honda Element had been slashed and the lug nuts on both rear tires loosened. There are no suspects at this time.
