Employees fired after fight

Troy Police responded to reports of two employees fighting at on Tuesday morning. According to a police report, one claimed the other "pulled a box cutter on me."

Both employees were terminated and escorted from the premises, according to the report.

Hockey players fight during game

A hockey player reported to Troy Police that he had been attacked by another player during a game Tuesday night at the . According to a police report, the man said he suffered two bloody lips, a bruised left eye and chin and a chipped tooth.

Police contacted the other player, who said the victim had thrown the first punch, according to the report. The matter has been referred to the Troy City Attorney's office.

Vehicles stolen during night

A Dodge Caravan was stolen from the 2000 block of Lovington overnight Wednesday, and a Chrysler Concorde was stolen from the parking lot the same night, according to Troy Police.

Items stolen from apartments

A resident on the 500 block of Coachman said she had just moved into her apartment Thursday when she decided to take a break from moving to have dinner, according to a Troy Police report.

The woman told police that when she returned, several boxes and suitcases had been rifled through. She discovered two laptop computers, an iPod, a Rolex watch and a large amount of jewelry missing, the report said.

Later that night, another resident in the apartment complex told police he arrived home to find the door to his apartment unlocked and his apartment ransacked, according to a police report. A laptop computer was stolen.

Items stolen from vehicles

  • A homeowner on the 2000 block of Santia reported that someone had stolen all four hubcaps from her Cadillac Escalade either the night of Feb. 18 or morning of Feb. 19, according to a Troy Police report.
  • According to police, a vehicle owner on Robbins reported that someone had stolen the catalytic converter from his Chevy Cavalier on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
  • A vehicle owner on the 2000 block of Lanergan reported that someone had stolen a brand-new laptop from her vehicle Tuesday night or Wednesday morning. There were no signs of forced entry, according to a Troy Police report.

Diamond earrings, ring stolen from jewelry stores in separate incidents

A $4,000 pair of diamond earrings was stolen from on Feb. 1 after a customer asked to see the earrings with a jeweler's loupe. Police say the man did not purchase the earrings, and staff believe the man switched the earrings with a fake set as he was looking at them, the report said.

A Leo diamond ring valued at $7,700 was stolen from on Thursday evening. According to Troy Police, a man asked to see the ring, which an employee then removed from the display counter and placed on her own finger. The man then grabbed the ring off her finger and fled the mall.

The suspect is described as a male between the ages of 25 and 27 wearing a yellow-and-black plaid shirt and black jeans. If you have information about this or any other incident, please call Troy Police at 248-524-3477.
