Police Blotter: Electronic Equipment Stolen from Art Institute, Thieves Target Cars at Golf Course

Electronics stolen from Art Institute

Police said a flat screen television, several computers and monitors were stolen sometime between 9 a.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Monday from an office storage room at the Art Institute of Michigan's Troy Campus, 1414 E. Maple.

Bike, blowers stolen

Police said a silver 26-inch women's bicycle was stolen sometime between 2:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday while locked with a chain in the 2000 block of Dorchester.

Police said two backpack gas-powered blowers were stolen about 10:10 a.m. Monday from a truck parked at the Station at 1881, E. 14 Mile Rd.

Thieves target cars at golf course

Police said windows were shattered on two vehicles between 5-9 p.m. Monday at the Sylvan Glen Golf Course and items were stolen.

Police said a rear tailgate window on a 2007 Lincoln MKX was broken and a purse stolen from it and a front passenger window was shattered on a 2002 Chrysler Town and Country and a wallet was stolen.

Pool hoppers trash property

Police said trespassers in the 4000 block of Briggs used a swimming pool at a residence without permission and left trash and fecal waste on the resident's property. The complainant told police the incident occurred between 11:30 p.m. Saturday and 11:30 a.m. Sunday.

Dumpster fires

Police officers and firefighters responded about 6:45 a.m. Saturday to the report of four dumpster fires at 1734 Crooks; 1749 Northwood; 1707 Northwood; and 1300 W. Maple.
