Evicted Tenant Allegedly Trashes Home; Couple Allegedly Steals Baby Formula from Kroger

Customer punches employee over hat

An employee at Men's Royal Clothing reported to Troy Police Wednesday afternoon that a customer had punched him in the lip.

According to a Troy Police report, the suspect was squeezing a hat that was for sale, and when the employee asked the man to stop, the man became enraged, began shouting and then punched the employee.

The suspect is described as a 40-year-old man, approximately six feet tall and wearing a black leather hat, a black coat and gray pants.

Social security number stolen, used to co-sign for $46,000 loan

A woman reported Tuesday that someone had fraudulently used her social security number to co-sign on a student loan for $46,817.01, according to a police report. The woman learned of the loan after she began receiving letters from a collection agency.

Angry tenant allegedly trashes home after eviction

A homeowner reported Sunday that the tenant renting her home on the 1000 block of Hamman had trashed the home after the homeowner threatened the tenant with eviction, according to a police report. According to the report, the tenant had not paid rent for several months.

The landlord, who had not been in the home since December 2011, discovered the home had extensive water damage, mold on the walls upstairs and downstairs and standing water in the basement, according to the report. The kitchen ceiling had also been pulled down.

The Troy officer responding to the call believed the home to be uninhabitable and a total loss, according to the report. A neighbor said the tenant had moved out the week prior to the homeowner checking on the home.

Couple allegedly steals baby formula from Kroger

A 42-year-old Berkley woman was arrested for retail fraud in the second degree Tuesday afternoon after she allegedly stole six cans of Enfamil infant formula from , according to a Troy Police report. The woman also has three warrants for her arrest from other jurisdictions.

Her companion, a 56-year-old Berkley man, was arrested on six outstanding misdemeanor warrants from other jurisdictions. According to the report, Kroger Loss Prevention had been looking out for the couple, who had also allegedly stolen Enfamil baby formula from the same store on Feb. 24 and 25.
