Police Blotter: Man Cited for Drunken Driving After Chase; Cops Bust Underage Party

Following are highlights from recent reports:

Suspected drunken driver attempts to flee

A 29-year-old Detroit man was arrested at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday on charges of drunken driving, failure to stop and identify an accident, resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license.

Troy Police say officers responded to a report that a car stopped in a travel lane on Interstate 75 near Maple had been hit by another vehicle. A witness told police the driver had attempted to leave the scene, a police report said. When they arrived on the scene, officers said the driver attempted to flee on foot but they caught him after a short chase.

The driver registered a .19 blood alcohol level, above the Michigan limit of .08.

Police break up teen party

Five teenagers were cited for underage drinking Saturday night at , Troy Police said.

Police were responding to a call from a hotel worker about a loud party and possible underage drinking when officers found more than 16 people in the hotel room with beer and alcohol bottles scattered, according to a report. The teens were in the room celebrating someone's 18th birthday. Police say they searched the room and also discovered marijuana cigarettes, narcotic paraphernelia and aromatic incense.

The parents of the 17-year-olds were notified and the parents of four 16-year-olds picked them up.  

Townhouse invaded, robbed

A resident on the 2000 block Somerset told police someone entered his townhouse and stole jewelry, cash and a laptop some time between 4:45-11 p.m. Saturday. Police say it appears the person entered the townhouse through the sliding doorwall.  

Trailers damaged

An employee at told police someone threw bricks at two trailers parked at the site and damaged them between Jan. 20-27. Police say local  juveniles are suspected in the incident.
