Host, teens cited in New Year's drinking party

Troy Police officers were dispatched to a home on the 1000 block of Keaton for reports of an underage drinking party just before 11 p.m. on New Year's Eve. Upon arriving, officers said they observed 40-50 teenagers leaving the party. Officers found empty bottles of alcohol in the basement and garage of the home as well as Jell-O shots and "jungle juice" – a concoction of fruit juices and various liquors.

Two 17-year-old females from Troy still in the house were found to have been drinking and cited for minor in possession of alcohol. A 16-year-old male from Royal Oak was also found to have been drinking; he will be petitioned through Oakland County Probate Court.
