Police Blotter: Teens Arrested, Car Stolen, Home Invasions

Highlights from recent Troy Police Department reports:

Teens arrested after field fight

Two Troy teens were arrested at midnight Sunday after police responded to a report of juveniles fighting in an open field. Police say they stopped a vehicle near Brunswick and Cadmus and arrested a 16-year-old driver for not having a license and arrested a 16-year-old passenger on a charge of marijuana possession. Police say the passenger had started to eat the marijuana before police approached the vehicle in an attempt to hide it. The three other passengers in the vehicle were not arrested or charged.

Volkswagen Jetta stolen

A homeowner on the 600 block of Elm Park told police a Volkswagen Jetta was stolen from his driveway between 9 p.m. March 23 and 9 a.m. March 24.

Home invasions reported

  • Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred between 8 a.m.-5 p.m. March 23 on the 1000 block of Muer. A resident told police someone broke into the home by forcing open a kitchen window and stole jewelry, a Sentry safe and a large amount of cash.
  • Several items were reported stolen from a house under construction on the 1000 block of Amerwood at about 11 a.m. March 23. A builder told police the garage door was bent open and the pedestrian door kicked in. Items stolen include 12 glass block windows, a 40-foot extension ladder, a box of tiles, a sewage pump, five 5-gallon buckets of paint and an interior door.
