A Detroit man is in custody Tuesday after being charged with multiple felonies stemming from a Saturday incident at in Troy, where police say he pulled his pants down and masturbated while watching a young girl.
On Saturday, a security officer at the store observed the man, 33-year-old registered sex offender Aaron Frederick-William Lingeman, walking around the store carrying a camera. According to a media release, the subject then entered the young girls department, stood behind a display, pulled his pants down and began stimulating himself while watching a young girl.
Police officers arrived and confronted Lingeman, then escorted him from the store. Officers used a fingerprint scanner to identify Lingeman at the scene after he gave a false name to officers, according to the report.
When officers informed Lingeman he was under arrest, he attempted to flee but was subdued by officers after a brief struggle, according to the report. He was handcuffed and placed inside a patrol vehicle, where he then kicked out both rear door windows. Additional officers arrived and placed Lingeman in leg irons and belly chains before transporting him to lock-up in a prisoner van.
Upon searching Lingeman's vehicle, police found numerous young girls undergarments in the passenger compartment; several cell phones and a camera containing pictures of young girls; and a tool box in the trunk containing numerous young girls undergarments, makeup and wigs.
Lingeman was charged with multiple felonies, including indecent exposure by a sexually delinquent person, two counts of malicious destruction to police property, and three counts of resisting and obstructing a police officer. His bond was set at $50,000 cash surety only.
Lingeman was convicted in 2001 of attempted criminal sexual conduct in the 4th degree and criminal sexual conduct in the 4th degree, according to the Michigan Public Sex Offender Registry.
