Retail Fraud, Drunken Driving Reported to Troy Police

One hundred panties, valued at $950, were stolen from the panty bar at Victoria's Secret on May 24. There are no suspects.

The following information about police incidents is taken directly from the most recent Troy Police Department media release.
Breaking and entriesLucky's Market (4835 John R Rd.) at 5:19 a.m. May 26: Troy Officers were dispatched to the business on an activated burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers discovered the front glass door had been smashed and the building had been entered. A cash register containing money was stolen.  
Driving under influence of alcohol/drugs

  • Interstate-75 and Adams Rd., at 10:29 p.m. on May 24: A Troy Officer stopped a vehicle traveling 95 miles-per-hour on I-75. The driver smelled slightly of intoxicants and had difficulty maintaining his balance. The 25-year-old male from Rochester Hills was arrested for operating while intoxicated and breath test results were .11 percent.  
  • Rochester Rd. and E. Big Beaver Rd., at 3:20 a.m. on May 25: Troy Officers stopped a vehicle unable to maintain its lane of travel, crossing lane markers, and at times straddling two lanes. The driver smelled of intoxicants, had bloodshot/glassy eyes and slurred speech. The 26-year-old Ortonville woman failed sobriety tests and was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Breath test results were .18 percent.  
  • 6000 block of Forest Park, at 8:04 a.m. on May 25: A Troy Officer responded to a malicious destruction of property report. The officer observed vehicle skid marks on the roadway and across the lawn. A small tree had been run over and an AT&T junction box ripped from its base. The officer located a vehicle parked nearby with fresh accident damage and dirt/grass all over two sides. The driver was asleep behind the wheel with the keys in the ignition. He was woken and the officer noted he had bloodshot/watery eyes and smelled strongly of intoxicants. Following an investigation, the 20-year-old Troy resident was arrested for operating while intoxicated.” Breath test results were .13 percent.   
  • Interstate-75 and Crooks Rd., at 10:19 p.m. on May 25: Troy Officers were dispatched to the area after a citizen reported a suspected drunk driver. Officers located the vehicle and confirmed it was weaving and crossing lane markers. When the vehicle was stopped, officers noted the driver smelled of intoxicants and had bloodshot eyes. The 32-year-old Detroit male said he had been at Belle Isle and was on his way to "Fifteen and Harper." When asked where he was now, the driver said he was on I-94. He failed sobriety tests and was arrested for operating while intoxicated (third offense) and driving while license revoked second offense. Breath test results were .15 percent. 
  • Interstate-75 and Rochester Rd., at 2:42 a.m. on May 26: A Troy Officer was assisting a broken down motorist on the right shoulder of I-75 when a vehicle passed the patrol car, which had its overhead emergency lights activated. The passing vehicle failed to move over into the center lane though there was ample opportunity to do so. The vehicle drifted toward the patrol vehicle as it passed. The officer noticed the vehicle was crossing lane markers and driving in more than one lane at a time. When the vehicle was stopped the officer found the driver had slurred speech, smelled of intoxicants and was unable to correctly recite the alphabet. The 43-year-old Lake Orion male had poor balance and failed sobriety tests. He was arrested for operating while intoxicated and driving while license suspended. Breath test results were .12 percent.  
  • Interstate-75 and Rochester Rd., at 2:41 a.m. on May 27: Troy Officers responded to the area after a citizen reported a suspected drunk driver northbound on I-75. Officers located the vehicle and confirmed it was unable to maintain its lane of travel and repeatedly crossed lane markers. When the vehicle was stopped, the officers noted the driver smelled of intoxicants, had slurred speech and very bloodshot/glassy eyes. The driver’s balance was so poor officers discontinued sobriety tests as they feared he would fall and injure himself. The 37-year-old Clarkston resident was arrested for operating while intoxicated and breath test results were .18 percent. 
Larcenies 
  • 1000 block of Somerset, between May 14-17: The complainant reports someone broke into his apartment’s basement storage locker, which was chained locked, and stole his black Gary Fisher Tiburon mountain bicycle.  
  • 2000 block of Coolidge Hwy., between 9 a.m. and 5:30 a.m. on May 23: Resident states his new black Trek 820 mountain bicycle was stolen from the hallway of his apartment complex where he had padlocked it to the stair railing.  
  • 2000 block of Somerset, between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. on May 21-24: Two locked bicycles were stolen from the complainant’s secured apartment basement storage locker. Stolen were a red men’s Diamond Back Overdrive 29er and a black women’s Diamond Back Lux Mountain Bike.
  • Metro Physical Therapy (2891 E. Maple Rd.), between 12-1 p.m. on May 23: An employee states her wallet was stolen from a counter behind the front office desk. The wallet contained the complainant’s driver’s license, social security card, debit card and some cash.
  • 1000 block of Axtell, between 2-5 p.m. on May 24-25: Complainant reports two bicycles were stolen from her secured apartment basement storage locker. A bicycle lock was cut and a black and red women’s Giant NRS C1 and a blue and silver women’s Giant Sedona were stolen.
  • 4000 block of Cypress, between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on May 24-25: Complainant reports that a laptop computer was stolen from his home during a party.  
Larcenies from autos
  • Lexington and Shakespeare, between 12-5:30 a.m. on May 24: Five vehicles in the subdivision had windows busted and personal property stolen from within. Golf clubs, two purses/contents and a laptop computer were among the items stolen.  
  • Firefighter's Park (1810 W. Square Lake Rd.), at 7:19 p.m. on May 26: Complainant left his backpack, which contained his wallet, on the ground near disc golf hole #3. After playing three more holes, he returned to his backpack, and discovered his wallet had been stolen. The wallet contained cash and the complainant’s identification.
Malicious destruction of property805 E. Big Beaver Rd. between 10 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. on May 26: Complainant states her SUV was scratched in two areas and the passenger side running board was removed from the vehicle. This is the third time her vehicle has been vandalized while she was at work. Retail fraud 
  • Victoria's Secret (2800 W. Big Beaver Rd.) between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. on May 24: One hundred panties, valued at $950, were stolen from the panty bar. There are no suspects.  
  • Nordstrom (28550 W. Big Beaver Rd.) at 9:30 p.m. May 25: Troy Officers arrested a 24-year-old Royal Oak woman for retail fraud after she switched price tags on two skirts. She removed the price tag from the skirt she wished to purchase and replaced it with a lower priced tag from another item. She then went to a register and said she wanted to exchange the incorrectly tagged skirt for one she removed from her shopping bag. That skirt was also incorrectly tagged and the woman did not have a receipt or any proof of purchase for the item. Her 4-year-old child was with her during the incident.
